We are very pleased to announce the arrival of our new fishing charter boat Vagabond.

As anyone who has had a boat built will confirm, a new one is never, ever delivered on time! But it has been worth the wait.

Vagabond is a 7.5m (25’) aluminium monohull, with aluminium pontoons. She has been bult in Fiji to a New Zealand design and to strict NZ survey standards. She is powered by two Mariner Optimax 115hp outbords.

Her hull is very similar to that of Black Jack, our dive boat, which we believe is the best dive boat around. The design combines a very sharp, deep V hull (for a smooth ride in rough seas) with multi compartmented pontoons for stability and safety.

In practice, Vagabond has proved to be a wonderful addition to our fleet. She is uncannily dry, even in choppy seas, very comfortable and terrific for fishing. She has a casting deck in front of the cabin, which is perfect for casting poppers to Giant Trevally, a specialty in Fiji. The comfortable seating, dryness and the security of twin engines makes Vagabond ideal for charters and transfers to Nadi and the neighbouring islands.

Incidentally, Vagabond takes its name from a species of Butterflyfish common in the waters around Tokoriki.
