Bay Watch - Tokoriki Style!

Tuesday December 11, 2012

Meet the Tokoriki Bay Watch Babes! Early December is a fairly quiet time of year, and as such we usually dedicate this time to boat staff training.

Over several days the dive and watersports team practised several different in-water and on shore rescue scenarios.

These are quite involved and culminate in an in-water rescue and tow, getting the ‘victim’ into the boat (the difficult bit), checking vitals, practising rescue breaths and cpr, radioing for help, getting to the shore and finally being met by assistants and stretcher, who go through the steps of organising a medivac off the island.

Huge amounts of laughing takes place and the crew had a great time, whilst refreshing key skills which we hope we never have to put into place.
