Boats and Equipment

Black Jack SternOur boats were custom built for Dive Tropex Tokoriki. The awesome 450HP ‘Black Jack’ (named after a powerful and tough species of Trevally) is a state of the art 7.9m/26’ aluminium mono hull, which is considered the best dive boat in Fiji for her size.

‘Vagabond’ (named after a local species of butterflyfish) is a 7.5m/25’ aluminium monhull powered by a 225HP Mercury outboard. She is ideal for smaller groups of divers.

For training dives we use the 5.5m/18’ ‘Humbug’ (a cheeky black and white damselfish found on our home reefs), a strong, sea-worthy pontoon boat.

Regulator second stageAll boats carry a full compliment of safety equipment: life jackets, flares, radios, first aid kits and oxygen and are fully marine surveyed. Our dive team are PADI Emergency First Responders, DAN Oxygen Provider trained and Fiji International Marine Safety Association (FIMSA) licensed Boat Masters.

Many divers like to hire their gear when they arrive at Tokoriki. We have full range of quality equipment available. Our regulators are Sherwood Brut, Magnums and Oasis with Suunto Computers as standard for certified divers. Computers and gauges are metric (metres and bar). Our BCDs are Aqua-Lung Waves and we have a selection of full-foot Mares avanti fins and masks. Please note, however, we do not have prescriptions lenses. Exposure suits offered are 3mm neoprene shorties or 5mm full length suits. Hard lead weights and weight belts, and aluminium (80 cubic feet and 65 cubic feet) tanks with International k-valves are provided for all divers. Flash Lights are also available for hire.

If you are bringing your own diving equipment, we do sell spares—fin straps, mouthpieces, mask straps etc as well as log books, PADI Course Books and Dive merchandise.

We are happy to take care of the setting up, dismantling, cleaning, drying and storing of your dive equipment, although you’ll probably want to hang on to your mask, snorkel and fins for snorkeling.
