Bula

We’ d like to introduce ourselves to you. Our names are Will and Alex and we own and operate Tokoriki Diving, an award winning PADI 5 Star Dive Centre based at Tokoriki Island Resort.

We arrived in Fiji in 1998, having spent the previous 5 years living in Egypt. Somewhere tropical after living in the desert was a nice change.

None of our adventure was planned, we simply got the opportunity to work in Fiji, and have never looked back!

We’ ve spent the last two and a half decades pioneering the diving around Tokoriki Island: exploring the reefs, getting to know the aquatic life, and understanding the tides, currents and seas. From the countless hours spent observing one small area of underwater Fiji has come a strong sense of ‘guardianship’ of the reef, a passion we have imbued in the rest of our team.

In 2000 we set up the Tokoriki Giant Clam Regeneration Program in partnership with the Fiji Ministry of Fisheries. Through trial and perserverance, we have ended up with the largest collection of mature tridacna gigas clams in Fiji! This is a critically endangered species of giant clam, with our largest weighing approximately 100 kg/ 220 lb, and measuring over 1 metre/ 3 ft in length.

We are so lucky that through twenty four years we have never lost our enthusiasm, always kept learning and investing. And the reason we are able to live on this beautiful island and dive in these beautiful seas is you...

We look forward to diving with you soon!

Will's love of all things to do with water and adventure travel, got him to Fiji and Tokoriki Island Resort in the first place.

He has an impressive knowledge of the reef ecyosystem, and Fiji wildlife in general. Conservation minded, Will has spear headed all of Tokoriki Diving's environmental policies and projects.

As Managing Director of Tokoriki Diving Will ensures that dive boats and equipment are all maintained and serviced, and that the team are formally trained in all areas of operating a dive business.

Having dived over 5000 dives in the local area and taught hundreds of people to dive, Will is an experienced dive professional.

Away from diving Will loves to popper fish for GTs (strictly catch and release), and along side Alex enjoys nothing more than spending time on their farm in Momi, Fiji.

Such a fun, encouraging and caring PADI Instructor. He loves to 'high five'. We've known Save since he was a young boy. His father Koli, worked alongside us 20 years ago as a PADI Divemaster. Save has the accolade as being Yanuya Island's first PADI Instructor, a tremedous achievement, reflecting the man and PADI Instructor Save is.

Know Kale, know his laugh! Kale is always goofing around. He is perhaps Tokoriki Diving's most 'all round' guy. Kale has done several thousand dives and is an accomplished PADI Divemaster. He loves to learn, and has an impressive knowledge of fish, corals and invertebrates. Kale's family are Yanuya Island fishermen and he too has the genes. Along side Sam, Kale captains many of the fishing trips as well as takes the position of 'Guide' on our excursions.

An excellent Boat Captain and all round nice guy. Quite frankly he’s our man when it comes to transfers, captaining dive boats and taking guests fishing. With experience of ‘all weather’ boat driving that started from childhood, graduating professionally for USA Survivor and now Tokoriki Diving, Sam puts safety first always and keeps our boats looking clean and tidy.

Epeli

There is so much involved in the preparation of equipment and boats prior to a dive trip. It takes a full team at least 1 hour of busy, hard work to get a dive trip ready, so that when you turn up the boat is clean and fueled, the equipment carried and stowed safely, your dive accessories all put out ready for you to grab and go! You have Epeli to thank for that.

Epeli is currently a trainee with Tokoriki Diving and we love his infectious personality and smile. He is from Yanuya Island Village and is Sam’s youngest brother.
