“We’ d like to introduce ourselves to you. Our names are Will and Alex and we own and operate Tokoriki Diving, regarded by many of our diving guests to be Fiji’s best boutique dive centre.
Tokoriki Diving is an award winning PADI 5 Star Dive Centre based at Tokoriki Island Resort on Tokoriki Island.
We arrived in Fiji in 1998, having spent the previous 5 years living in Egypt. Somewhere tropical after living in the desert was a nice change.
None of our adventure was planned, we simply got the opportunity to work in Fiji, and have never looked back!
We’ ve spent the last two and a half decades pioneering the diving around Tokoriki Island: exploring the reefs, getting to know the aquatic life, and understanding the tides, currents and seas. From the countless hours spent observing one small area of underwater Fiji has come a strong sense of ‘guardianship’ of the reef, a passion for conservation that we have imbued in the rest of our team.
In 2000 we set up the Tokoriki Giant Clam Regeneration Program in partnership with the Fiji Ministry of Fisheries. Through trial and perserverance, we have ended up with the largest collection of mature tridacna gigas clams in Fiji! This is a critically endangered species of giant clam, with our largest weighing approximately 100 kg/ 220 lb, and measuring over 1 metre/ 3 ft in length.
We are so lucky that through twenty four years we have never lost our enthusiasm, always kept learning and investing. And the reason we are able to live on this beautiful island and dive in these beautiful seas is you...

Will
Will is the co founder of Tokoriki Diving and a senior dive instructor and Boat Captain with more than two decades of experience exploring Tokoriki’s reefs and islands. A PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, he combines thorough technical knowledge with an easygoing teaching style that puts guests at ease, from first-time snorkelers to experienced divers. Will has an intimate understanding of local currents, marine life, and reef restoration efforts.
Outside the water he leads our conservation initiatives—organizing reef cleanups, citizen-science surveys, and coral nursery maintenance. Friendly, safety-focused, and endlessly curious, Will’s passion for the ocean shines through in every dive, helping guests discover the best of Fiji’s underwater world.
Alex
Alex is co‑founder of Tokoriki Diving and a retired senior dive instructor with more than two decades exploring Tokoriki’s reefs and islands. When the Covid pandemic forced Tokoriki Diving to close for two years, she used her ocean knowledge to found a successful handcrafted sea‑salt business, which she sold in 2025.
Since early 2026 Alex has returned to Tokoriki Diving, managing sales and marketing, reservations and general administration for our busy dive centre. She is currently focused on strengthening the Tokoriki Diving brand and launching several exciting new products. Alex now dives for pleasure and rejoins the team most weekends.
Save
Save is a senior PADI OWSI Instructor and Boat Captain, and has worked with Tokoriki Diving for over a decade.
Born on Yanuya Island, we first got to know Save as a teenager, as he is the son of Koli - a retired Tokoriki Diving team member. Save, combines his experience of exploring Tokoriki’s reefs and islands with formal PADI Instructor qualifications. Save has a fun, easygoing teaching style that puts guests at ease.
Save has an intimate understanding of local currents and waters as well as local marine life (he previously worked for Coral Cay UK - an environmental NGO). Friendly, safety-focused and fun, Save’s passion for the ocean and teaching shines through on every dive, ensuring guests receive the best possible experience.
Epeli
Epeli has worked with Tokoriki Diving since leaving school. Working his way up the ranks, Epeli completed all his formal training with the Tokoriki Diving team and is currently a PADI Divemaster and Boat Captain. He will spend several years in this role gaining experience and expertise before he embarks on his PADI OWSI Instructor training.
Epeli is the loveliest of people. Extremely diligent, hard working, gentle and caring. He simply loves scuba diving and we are excited for all that is to come for Epeli.
As with all our team Epeli is very friendly and safety focused with a knowledge of the ocean and interest in aquatic life and marine conservation. He melts the hearts of many of our guests with his beautiful smile.
Kale
Kale is a senior PADI Divemaster, Boat Captain and Fishing Guide. He has worked with Tokoriki Diving for over 20 years. From Yanuya Island, Kale has spent most of his diving career with us, although for five years he travelled and gained experience working on Taveuni Island.
Many of guests hear Kale before they meet him. His infectious laugh precedes him! Jokes aside he is an excellent guide having completed courses in Coral & Fish ID with the Mamanuca Environmental Society.
Aside from diving, Kale comes from a long line of fishermen, learning the craft and local waters from his father. Bringing this knowledge and combining it with formal fishing guide training has proved a winning combination.
Sam
Sam is a senior boat captain and fishing guide at Tokoriki Diving, with more than a decade of service. Before joining the dive centre he worked in the restaurant at Tokoriki Island Resort. Though he likely made a fine waiter, the sea and life on boats are in his blood. When the chance arose, he changed careers and has been part of our team ever since.
Sam treats the role of boat captain with the utmost responsibility. He has excellent handling skills, stays alert at all times, and keeps guests’ comfort and safety foremost.
Born and raised on Yanuya Island, he grew up surrounded by the seas and islands that he now navigates for our guests.
Roni
Roni joined the Tokoriki Diving team in 2024. Previously a boat captain on the USA Survivor production, he brings that experience and formal boat captain qualifications to every tour, transfer and dive—ensuring careful, responsible handling on the water.
An accomplished freediver, Roni is also an excellent snorkel guide.
He has a passion for fishing and enthusiastically leads light‑tackle fishing trips.
Like the rest of our team, he hails from Yanuya Island and has an intimate knowledge of the local reefs, currents and waters, which he happily shares with guests.
Apo
Apo joined the Tokoriki Diving team after the pandemic. Before COVID, he worked as a security guard at Denarau Marina but wanted to return to his home on Yanuya Island, so we were pleased to welcome him aboard.
A humble, religious family man, Apo combines gentleness with complete confidence in the water, making him an ideal snorkel guide for guests who are less confident—his calm manner naturally puts people at ease. Born and raised on Yanuya, he knows the islands and waters around Tokoriki intimately.
Apo is also a qualified boat captain and an excellent tour guide. Like all our team members, he’s a smashing, very personable guy.
